You just can’t make dosa whenever you feel like. But in today’s recipe we are making instant dosa using dal and rice only. You can avoid all above steps and make dosa whenever you want. This dosa turns out nice, crispy exactly like fermented batter dosa. You can try this recipe at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1/4 cup Urad dal
  • 1/4 cup Poha / Flattened rice
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • A little Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Eno fruit salt
  • Oil

 

Instant dosa

Instructions

Step 1: In a bowl take rice, urad dal, poha, fenugreek seeds and mix well.

Step 2: Wash everything well together 3-4 times with water.

Step 3: Transfer the mixture into a blender jar and add lemon juice, sugar, water.

Step 4: Blend everything well together into smooth paste.

Step 5: Transfer the batter into a bowl and add salt, eno fruit salt.

Step 6: Mix well quickly and dosa batter is ready.

Step 7: Heat up a pan on medium heat and spread oil.

Step 8: Turn the heat to low.

Step 9: Add the batter at the center and spread it evenly.

Step 10: Turn the heat to high, cover and cook for about 2 minutes.

Step 11: Remove the lid and cook until lower side gets nice brown color.

Step 12: When lower side gets nice browning brush a little oil on upper side and loosen the edges.

Step 13: Fold the dosa and transfer it into a serving dish. Instant dosa is all ready.

 

Notes

  • You can use 1/2 cup curd or buttermilk in place of lemon juice.
  • Serve the dosa with sambar and chutney.
