Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 1 cup powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup fine Rava / Sooji
  • 1/4 cup Maida
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2~3 tsp Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Fruit essence
  • 1/4 cup Tutti frutti

Instructions

  • Take curd in a bowl.
  • Add powdered sugar and mix well. Beat the mixture really good.
  • Add oil, baking soda and mix everything well together.
  • When the mixture gets consistency like condensed milk, add rava, maida, baking powder and mix everything well together.
  • Add milk to adjust the consistency and mix well.
  • Rest the batter for about 15-20 minutes.
  • After resting the mixture thickens up. So to adjust the consistency add milk again and mix well.
  • Do not add more milk. The batter should not be runny.
  • Add fruit essence and mix well.
  • Add tutti frutti and mix well.
  • You can use vanilla essence in place of fruit essence.
  • Line up the base of the baking tray with wax paper. You can use aluminium foil too.
  • If you don’t have wax paper then grease the baking tin well with oil or butter.
  • Add few tutti frutti at the base of the baking tray and pour the batter into it.
  • Garnish with tutti frutti and tap the tray really good.
  • Add a layer of salt at the base of the cooker and remove the whistle and rubber ring from the lid.
  • Preheat the cooker on medium heat for 10 minutes.
  • Put a stand or empty tin at the base of the cooker and cake tin on it.
  • Close the lid and bake on a little lower to medium heat for about 50-55 minutes.
  • If you want to bake the cake in oven then preheat the oven on 150 Deg C.
  • Bake the cake on 150 Deg C for about 45-50 minutes.
  • If you have built in oven the both lower and upper coils should be on.
  • Insert a tooth pick at the center of the cake. If it comes out clean it means cake is perfectly baked.
  • Take the tray out and let it cool down for about 20-25 minutes.
  • Loosen the edges and flip over the tray into a dish.
  • Rava fruit cake is all ready.
