Today we are making shahi keshar modak whish is a real quick recipe. It needs very few ingredients and taste just awesome. It gets nice natural color of saffron. You can try this recipe at home.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup hot Milk
  • Saffron
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 3~4 tsp Ghee
  • 3 cups Milk powder
  • Angoori Rasgulla

Instructions

Step 1: In a bowl take milk, Everest saffron and mix well.

Step 2: Rest it for about 10 minutes. 

Step 3: Heat up milk in a pan on medium heat and add sugar.

Step 4: Mix well and let the sugar dissolve completely.

Step 5: Add ghee and mix well.

Step 6: Add milk powder, saffron milk and mix in quickly. No lumps of milk powder should be formed.

Step 7: Cook everything together for about 5-6 minutes.

Step 8: When the mixture comes together like dough and begins to leave the sides of the pan, transfer it into a dish.

Step 9: Let the mixture cool down completely.

Step 10: Take modak mold and fill in the mixture.

Step 11: Make an impression at the center of the stuffing on both sides with thumb and fill in angoori rasgulla.

Step 12: Close up the modak mould and seal the bottom well.

Step 13: Press well from all sides to give nice shape to modak.

Step 14: Open the mould and take modak out.

Step 15: Shahi keshar modak is all ready.

Notes

  • If you don’t have rasgulla for stuffing then you can use 1 cup milk instead of 1/2 cup and then it will help to make juicy modak.
