Mix lentil appe is a traditional recipe. But we have made a variation to make healthier. This is protein rice and weight loss recipe. This is very easy and quick recipe. These appe are crispy outside and nice, soft inside. This can be good breakfast or evening snack option. Do try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Chana dal
  • 1/2 cup Moong dal
  • 1 tbsp Toor dal
  • 1 tbsp Masoor dal
  • 3~4 Garlic cloves
  • Green chilies
  • Finely chopped Carrot
  • Finely chopped Capsicum
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Turmeric powder
  • Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Eno fruit salt
  • 1 tsp Water
  • Oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl take chana dal, moong dal, Toor dal, masoor dal, and wash everything really good 3-4 times with water.
  • Soak the lentils in enough water for about 3-4 hours.
  • Transfer the soaked lentils into a blender jar and add garlic, green chilies.
  • Blend everything in a mixer using minimum water.
  • Add carrot, capsicum, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, salt and mix everything well together.
  • You can add veggies of your choice.
  • Add Eno fruit salt and water to activate it. Mix well.
  • This is an instant recipe. So Eno is used.
  • If you don’t want to use eno then ferment the batter overnight.
  • Heat up appe patra on low heat.
  • Add a drop of oil in each mould of appe patra.
  • Add spoonful batter in each mould and a little oil along the edges.
  • Fry appe for about 4-5 minutes from one side.
  • Flip the appe over and fry well from other side too.
  • When appe are fried well from both sides, take them out into a dish.
  • Appe are all ready.
  • You can serve these with chutney.
