Timane is a very easy and simple recipe. This healthy recipe is light on stomach. You can try this recipe as a healthy breakfast or evening snack too. Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Moong dal
  • 2~3 chopped Green chilies
  • 7~8 chopped Garlic cloves
  • A little Water
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves (Optional)
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Wash moong dal really good 2-3 times with water.
  • Soak the dal in enough water for about 6-7 hours or overnight.
  • Transfer the soaked moong dal into a blender jar and add green chilies, garlic, water and blend into smooth paste.
  • Transfer the paste into a bowl.
  • Add a little water to adjust the consistency. The batter should have pouring consistency.
  • Add turmeric powder, salt and mix everything well together.
  • Add coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Coriander leaves are optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
  • Heat up a pan on medium heat.
  • Brush a little oil on it.
  • Add the batter at the center of the pan and spread it evenly.
  • Spread a little oil along the edges.
  • When lower side gets nice golden color spread a little oil on the upper side of timane.
  • Flip the timane over and roast well from other side too.
  • When it is roasted well from other side too fold it and take it off the pan into a dish.
  • Timane is all ready.
  • You can have them as it is or with chutney or sauce too.
  • Another way is, spread peanut chutney, roll it and enjoy.
