Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Soya chunks
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Finely chopped Onion
  • 1/2 cup fresh Peas (Optional)
  • 2 slit Green chilies
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • Finely chopped Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Besan
  • Water
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter (Optional)
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Easy soya kheema masala

Instructions

Step 1: Soak soya chunks in enough water for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2: Squeeze out excess water from soya chunks and keep it aside.

Step 3: Transfer the soaked soya chunks into a blender jar and pulse it to make kheema.

Step 4: Heat up oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Step 5: When cumin seeds splutter add onion and fry until it gets light golden color.

Step 6: When onion is about to get golden color add fresh peas and fry for another 4-5 minutes.

Step 7: When onion gets nice golden color add green chilies, ginger-garlic paste and mix well.

Step 8: Add tomato and fry everything together for about 4-5 minutes.

Step 9: Add coriander powder, red chili powder and fry everything well together for about 2 minutes.

Step 10: Move the masala along the edge of the pan and add besan in the remaining portion of the pan.

Step 11: Fry besan well for about a minute and mix it well with the masala.

Step 12: Add water to adjust the consistency, salt and mix well. Base masala or gravy is all ready.

Step 13: Add a little more water if needed.

Step 14: Add soya kheema and mix well.

Step 15: Add butter and mix well.

Step 16: Cook kheema on medium heat for about 8-10 minutes.

Step 17: Add coriander leaves and mix well. Soya kheema masala is ready.

Step 18: Heat up a skillet and add butter on it.

Step 19: Add red chili powder, coriander leaves and mix well.

Step 20: Place ladi pav on the mixture in the skillet and roast well from both sides.

Step 21: Serve soya kheema masala with these ladi pav.

Notes

  • You can use store bought soya kheema too.
  • Adding peas is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
  • You can add a little sugar if you want.
  • Adding butter is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
  • You can add masala from soya kheema in place of red chili powder while roasting ladi pav.
