Ingredients

  • 1 cup Jawar Flour
  • 2 tbsp Rice Flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Hot water 1/4 cup (approximately)

Instructions

  • Take jawar flour, rice flour in a deep plate, to that add salt to taste.
  • Add hot boiling water and mix well.
  • Once the dough cools a bit, start to knead the dough and continue to knead for at least 5 minutes.
  • For best results gather all dough and press it using the palms of your hand.
  • Dust dry flour over the rolling board and start to pat it to flatten it into round bread or bhakri.
  • Heat up skillet or tawa, place bhakri, the side on which we applied dry flour it should face upward.
  • As soon as you place bhakri, apply water on the top of bhakri and spread water evenly all over bhakri.
  • Roast it just till the time water starts to evaporate from the top side of bhakri.
  • Now flip the bhakri and cook from other side for just 2 minutes. At this point in time, you can increase the gas heat.
  • Now put the skillet away from gas heat, lift bhakri using tong and roast it on direct gas heat from both sides.
  • Serve hot with a dollop of ghee over it.

Notes

  • The use of rice flour is optional.
  • Make sure the skillet is just enough hot and not extremely hot when you place bhakri over the skillet.
