Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup Chole
  • 4 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 2 big finely chopped Onions
  • 2 finely chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Kitchen king masala
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Besan
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Instructions

  • Wash chole really good and soak in enough water overnight.
  • Transfer the soaked chole along with water in it into the cooker.
  • Close the lid and cook chole on medium heat until 7-8 whistles.
  • Heat up oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Add bay leaves. You can ass whole spices also if you want.
  • Add onion and fry until it turns nice golden for about 5-6 minutes.
  • Add tomato and mix well.
  • Fry tomatoes for about 4-5 minutes or these get mashed with onions.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, kitchen king masala, red chili powder and mix well.
  • You can use any other garam masala too.
  • Fry everything well for about 2 minutes more.
  • Add besan and roast it a little.
  • Mix besan well with the masala and fry for another 2 minutes.
  • Add boiled chole, salt to taste, and mix well.
  • Cover and cook on medium heat for 6-8 minutes.
  • Turn off the gas and add finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • Chole masala is already.
  • It goes well with naan, bhatura, and fantastic with kulcha.
