Kandi pedha is a traditional Satara special recipe. These are popularly known as Satari kandi pedhe. This is very easy and simple recipe that can be made in just 10 minutes. Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg Khava / Mawa
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

Instructions

  • Heat up a pan on medium heat and add khava in it.
  • Fry it for about 2-3 minutes until it melts and the raw smell of it has vanished.
  • Do not fry khava longer or the pedha will be chewy.
  • When khava melts and begins to release ghee add sugar.
  • Mix well and fry on medium heat until it comes together like dough for about 8-10 minutes.
  • Stir the mixture continuously.
  • Take a little mixture in a spoon and check.
  • If it comes together like dough then the mixture for making padha is ready.
  • Turn off the gas and mix well once.
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Continue stirring for about a minute or two after turning the gas off.
  • Transfer the mixture into a dish and spread it.
  • Let the mixture cool down completely.
  • You can rest it overnight so that you will get that perfect kandi pedha texture.
  • Roll the mixture into pedha.
  • Kandi pedhe is all-ready.
