Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fine Cracked Wheat
  • 1 cup hot Water
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped Onion
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 8 to 10 Curry Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Raw Peanuts
  • 2 tbsp chopped Carrots
  • 2 tbsp chopped Green Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Green Peas
  • 1/2 cup chopped Spinach
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar

Instructions

  • Heat tbsp of oil in a pan. After oil is hot add cumin seeds.
  • Let the cumin seeds sizzle, then add onion followed by green chilli and curry leaves.
  • Let the onions soften a little bit.
  • Then add raw peanuts, carrots, turmeric powder, mix well.
  • Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Then add green pepper and peas and mix.
  • Add cracked wheat and mix well.
  • Add hot water and salt and sugar to taste.
  • Mix well, cover and simmer on a very low heat for 10 mts.
  • Finally add spinach leaves, mix well, cover and cook for 2 mts.
  • Serve hot with a dash of lemon juice or curd on the side!
